GameSpy: 2008 Game of the Year Awards
GameSpy has announced their list of 'Best of 2008' PC games, and also gave a "State of the PC" address. There have been quite a few discussions over how well PC gaming did this year, and although there were some ups and downs, the year is ending with some phenomenal game picks.
"As the GameSpy editorial staff held its annual Game of the Year discussions, an interesting debate arose: Was 2008, in fact, a good year for PC games? As you look at the Top 10 list on the pages that follow, you could argue that it was a great year, with fantastic games in every genre from shooters to role-playing to strategy games."
GameSpy also had several categories of winners, but one that stood out was the top 10 PC Games of the Year.
1. Fallout 3
2. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
3. Left 4 Dead
4. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
5. Grand Theft Auto IV
6. World of Goo
7. Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor
8. Mass Effect
9. Sins of a Solar Empire
10. Spore
Fallout 3 snagged PC Game of the Year, and RPG Game of the Year.
